FPC continues to build on these traditions as we look forward to our 175th Anniversary in 2023.įirst Presbyterian Church of Atlanta was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 2020. Many families who have helped build this city have been and are members of FPC and the church has celebrated some notable milestones. We are an urban church known for being a leader in worship, spiritual formation, service, community relationships, and the arts. We had amazing time photographing Mark and Heather and their beautiful ceremony as well as capturing their family and friends who were there to celebrate their marriage.Founded in 1848, First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is located at the corner of Peachtree and 16th Streets, next to the Woodruff Arts Center.

I don’t even know how to describe it other than…it was amazing! You would never guess that these photos were taken in the heart of the city. There is also a secret waterfall in the hotel. It was the perfect location for their portraits together. Come to find out, the Grand Hyatt was previously a Japanese hotel, so on the garden terrace there is a Japanese garden that is so beautiful. I’m so glad that we were able to start off their pictures at the grand Hyatt with their first look. Every once and a while you would see them give each other glances across cross the room that spoke volumes of how much they truly loved and appreciated each other. When I first arrived at the getting ready location and I walked in the room and I saw Heather, she had the biggest smile on her face – she was so joyful! Throughout the whole day Mark and Heather had the attitude of being so thankful for each other. Their flower girl twirling photos were so cute! It was at their engagement session this summer that we learned that both girls love to twirl their dresses, so this came in handy when we took the pictures at the wedding.

When you know, you know! Mark and Heather both have two beautiful daughters and they were so sweet and cute throughout the whole day. It was recently that they reconnected and immediately hit it off. Mark and Heather met a few years ago and started their friendship. The one thing that held the most value for them was the sacredness of their covenant before God, so having their ceremony in such a beautiful chapel was so fitting for them. It was the same chapel where she attended her school orientation – which is such a sweet memory. When I first met Heather, she told me that the reason she was drawn to having their wedding at Peachtree, was because their family had special memories there and one of them being that her daughter first went to preschool at the church.
